IDF begins medal process for 7/10 battles, three years after war onset

The IDF Victims' Unit is updating bereaved families and will hold a commanders' conference to outline the framework for awarding medals for acts of bravery and sacrifice in the Gaza Envelope battles of October 7, 2023. Notable civilian bravery cases will be referred to the President. This formal recognition process, initiated three years after the event, signals an institutional effort to codify the military's narrative of the conflict.
