Miocene-era Titanochelon bolivari and mammoth fossils discovered in Madrid

Paleontologists have identified fossilized remains of a giant turtle, Titanochelon bolivari, and a mammoth within building construction sites in Madrid. The findings date to the Miocene epoch, providing new data on the prehistoric fauna of the Iberian Peninsula.
