India seeks US probe into alleged plot against Hindu temple in Illinois

India has formally requested a US investigation into an alleged mass shooting plot targeting a Hindu temple in Illinois, marking a notable escalation in bilateral security cooperation. The claim is based on Indian government statements and unverified local reports; the plot's credibility and scope remain unclear. This development could strain US-India relations if mishandled, but also signals deepening counterterrorism coordination.
