US FY2026: Record-low border encounters, drug seizures up 60%

US Border Patrol reports first fiscal year without releases and fewest border encounters on record, alongside a 60%+ increase in drug seizures versus the prior four-year average. The claim is sourced from a single outlet and lacks official CBP data, so figures remain unverified. If confirmed, it signals a major shift in border enforcement outcomes, likely influencing domestic political narratives on immigration.
