Murders down 40% in Jamaica Police Area Two; gang violence persists

Murders in Jamaica's Police Area Two (St. Ann, St. Mary, Portland) fell 40% year-to-date through October 12, per Area Commander ACP McArthur Sutherland. Gang violence in some communities remains a challenge, indicating uneven security gains. The decline is notable but localized, with no indication of broader national trends.
