NDC unveils 118-member campaign council; Peter Obi ally named DG for 2027 election

Nigeria's National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has constituted a 118-member National Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, appointing Ibrahim Abdulkarim, an ally of Peter Obi, as Director-General. The move signals early coalition-building ahead of the 2027 race, though the NDC's electoral viability and alliance structure remain uncertain. This is a domestic political development with no direct market implications.
