US Army Typhon battery in Europe fires new missile for first time

The 3rd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, the Army's primary Typhon long-range missile battery in Europe, conducted its first live-fire of the new weapon system. This marks an operational milestone for the Typhon platform, which can launch SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles, enhancing US strike capabilities in the European theater. The test signals a shift in US Army long-range fires posture, potentially affecting deterrence dynamics with Russia.
