Cosatu backs ANC and SACP in local elections, citing 'super resolution'

South Africa's largest trade union federation, Cosatu, has formally endorsed both the ANC and SACP in upcoming local government elections, invoking a 'super resolution' to maintain worker unity and the tripartite alliance. This marks a notable political alignment ahead of the polls, potentially consolidating left-wing support but also risking voter confusion over dual endorsements. The move signals internal alliance dynamics and could influence electoral outcomes in key municipalities.
