Viral video mislabels Pope Leo XIV's prison visit in Peru as imprisonment

A video of Pope Leo XIV (then Bishop Robert Prevost) smiling in what appears to be a prison cell in Chiclayo, Peru, has gone viral, with some misinterpreting it as his imprisonment. The video actually shows him participating in a charitable activity at a prison, days before his reunion with the Diocese of Chiclayo. The incident is a case of misinformation, not a real event, and has no geopolitical or market significance.
