Yemeni army kills 16 Houthis in foiled assault south of Taiz

Yemeni government forces repelled a large-scale Houthi attack on the Al-Shaqab front south of Taiz after eight hours of fighting, killing 16 militants. The assault targeted eastern and western sectors of the front, marking a continued escalation in the Taiz axis. Casualty figures are unverified and likely undercounted; the incident underscores persistent instability despite ongoing peace efforts.
