Iran Requests Russian Caspian Port Upgrades to Secure Grain Imports

Iran has formally asked Russia to strengthen its Caspian Sea ports to ensure grain and basic food supplies via the northern route, citing Ukrainian actions that have disrupted food deliveries to northern Iran. The request signals deepening Russo-Iranian economic cooperation amid ongoing conflict-related supply chain disruptions. The scope of port upgrades and timeline remain unspecified, and the impact on regional trade flows is uncertain.
