Azerbaijan's Hijab Restrictions Signal Secular Stance, Strain Turkey Ties

Azerbaijan has implemented hijab restrictions, specifically a ban in schools, which is assessed as a reinforcement of its secular foreign policy. This move is straining bilateral relations with Turkey, evidenced by President Erdogan's notable silence, and is creating a policy divergence between the two allies. The full scope and enforcement of the ban, and its long-term impact on Ankara-Baku ties, remain uncertain.
