Kremlin 'Time of Heroes' mayor ousted after corruption allegations

Nikita Gorelov, mayor of Sosnovka and a graduate of the Kremlin's 'Time of Heroes' program for war veterans, was dismissed after raising corruption allegations. The dismissal signals potential internal friction within the program's cohort and the Kremlin's response to anti-corruption activism by its own appointees. The incident may reflect broader tensions between the program's stated goals and local political realities.
