Iran Claims Downing US MQ-1 Drone Over Qeshm Island

Iran's Revolutionary Guards claim to have shot down a US MQ-1 drone over Qeshm Island, asserting a total of 16 MQ-1 and 56 MQ-9 drones downed using advanced air defenses. The claim is unverified and likely inflated, but if true, it marks a direct military engagement with US assets, escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf. The incident underscores ongoing US-Iran friction, though the strategic impact depends on US confirmation and response.
