Saint Lucia homicides down 16% but burglaries, road deaths up

Saint Lucia police report a 16% year-on-year drop in homicides from Jan 1 to Oct 20, 2026, while burglaries and fatal road collisions increased. The data, presented by Assistant Commissioner Mashama Sealy, indicates a mixed public-safety picture. The decline in homicides may reflect targeted policing, but rising property crime and road fatalities suggest persistent challenges.
